Latin Music Intensive for Intermediate for Teens 13-19
August 1 - August 12
Limited Scholarships available based on audition and interview. Working for two weeks with master musicians who specialize in the Afro-Caribbean Latin style (Salsa), this program is designed for serious teens who have strong reading skills and at least three - five years previous training in their instrument. MUSICAL THEATRE SLEEP-AWAY CAMP
August 4th-15th, for ages 8-13
This 10-day experience gives children a special opportunity to learn about acting and musical theatre from actor, Edwin Lee Gibson, in the rural and peaceful setting of Boys & Girls Harbor Camp in, beautiful, East Hampton. Children participate in arts and crafts, athletics, swimming and boating and learn about themselves and each other in fireside chats. The camp grounds provide a safe haven sanctuary for special instruction in music, theatre and dance and encourage cast members to realize their full potential as they prepare for the final performance at the end of the session.

Classical Music Camp for Children Ages 6-13
July 5 - July 16, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Mon-Fri.
Program includes: Sight Singing/Chorus, Theory/ Harmony, Ensemble Class/Chamber Music, Music Appreciation/Music History, Introduction to Violin, and Performance Class.

HARBOR SALSEROS DEL BARRIO
JUNE 7, 6:00 PM,
Led by Maestro Ramon Rodriguez, the Harbor Salseros del Barrio are dedicated to the preservation and performance of the classics of the "boom" years of Latin Music from the 1970's and 1980's, a period that coined the phrase, "Salsa". Often referred to as the "Conjunto Era," or Fania years, the band features music made famous by Salsa greats such as, Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Larry Harlow, Bobby Valentin, Willie Rosario, Sonora Pocena, El Gran Combo and others.

The Harbor Latin Big Band is dedicated to recreating the music of the Palladium Era
featuring the music of Machito Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez. The Harbor Latin Big Band under the direction of Louis Bauzo, has performed with Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Mauricio Smith, and others.

Summer Music Camp - July 6-July 19,
The 2004 Summer Music Camp for music students will take place between July 5 through July 16,2004. Last year the camp was a huge success and the students who participated had a great time and learned alot. This year we are making it even more fun and exciting, plus we have increased the curriculum to accomodate beginner as well as intermediate students. This year classes will be taught in sight-singing, theory, ensemble, music appreciation, suzuki violin and music hour class where students perform for others. Deadline for registration will be Monday, June 21, 2004. A non-refundable fee $75.00 is the only way to guarantee a space in the camp. Slots will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

SUMMER INTENSIVE For Advanced Students -July 6 -July 16, 9AM - 4PM
Spend two weeks of the summer 2004 at Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts studying with some of New York's finest dance master teachers and instructors . Morning sessions will include pilates and ballet followed by afternoon sessions in repertory workshops. The session will also include swimming. 11 qualified dancers age 13-17 with at least 5 years of technical training in ballet, modern and or jazz will be eligible to receive a scholarship with stipend.
Audition will be held Thursday , June 3, at 4:30 in studio 623 at Boys Harbor.
Session begins Tuesday, July 6, 2004 to July 16 daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

DANCE CAMP for Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Dancers -
July 19 - 30, 9AM - 4PM
Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts presents it's First Annual Dance Camp for advanced beginner to intermediate dance students. Dancers will study for two weeks with some of New York's finest dance instructors, choreographers, and musicians. Students will study ballet, modern, jazz, Afro-Carribean, strength and stretch training and drumming. The session will also include a fieldtrip and swimming.
Session begins July 19 through July 30, from 9:00-4:00.

Musical Theater Camp - July (TBA)
The Theater Division proudly presents it's first annual Musical Theater Camp in East Hampton, Long Island.The musical "Once on this Island" will be presented. A colorful musical tale of love, loss and redemption.  A young girl leaves her village sent on the journey by the gods to test the ultimate strength of her love. Ten to twenty enthusiastic camp youth between the age of  9 to 12 will have an experience of a lifetime when they study, rehearse and perform this deeply melodic score with Latin rhythms along side 4-5 Harbor Conservatory  leadership students and guided by faculty from the Drama and Dance divisions. Class curriculum will entail instruction and exposure in Musical Theater Dance, Singing and Acting and will revolve around rehearsing and mounting the production which will be performed at the end of the session.

Africa Diaspora Concert and Exhibit

The Raices Latin Music Collection joins the South Street Seaport Museum in presentingg "Africa Diaspora: Folklorist and Musical Director Louis Bauzo leads members of Carambu and Patakin in a program exploring the traditions of Afro-Cuban and Afro-Puerto Rican folkloric music. The program compliments the exhibition, "Africans in the New World - From Captive Passage to Cultural Transcendence" now on view at the South Street Seaport Museum. The exhibition examines the slave trade and seeks to increase understanding of this maritime epic and its legacies in the modern world, including the cultural contributions of Africans that are an integral part of the Americas today.

Two week dance intensive for teens ages 13 to 17 with at least five years of training in ballet, modern or jazz. Students will study pilates, ballet, modern, jazz african, hip hop, musical theater, choreography and drumming. The session will also include fieldtrips to New York dance studios, and swimming.
Time : Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
FEE: $150.00 or
*11 scholarships available (with stipend)
