Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the fabulous COPACABANA 560 West 34th Street (11th Ave.) in New York City The Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts, a division of Boys & Girls Harbor, Inc., and Career Transition For Dancers, present WINTER HEAT on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 7:00 pm at the fabulous Copacabana, 560 West 34th St. in New York City. This special gala benefit evening of hot excitement will include dancing to the sounds of the 22-piece Harbor Latin Big Band and a performance by the Harbor Conservatory's Gestures Dance Ensemble. The event will raise funds to ensure positive futures for those artists both leaving as well as those preparing for dance careers. The Dress code is FESTIVE - whatever makes you dance. It will be a fun-filled evening of Latino entertainment that will capture the glamour of a sophisticated 40s supper club with Art Deco décor, a sweeping dance floor surrounded with flowing palm trees, food and drink to swing in a new year - a night at the Copa. The Honorary Chairs include Sarita Allen, Ronald K. Brown, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Chita Rivera. The Guests of Honor are Mercedes Ellington, Jennifer Muller and Rosie Perez. The gala evening Chairs are Janice Becker and Nina Klyvert-Lawson and the Committee includes: Fe Saracino Fendi, Ronald Lawson, Lady Maughan, Susan Fawcett Sosin, Suzanne Sunshine, and Laura Zeckendorf, committee in formation. Tickets are only at $150 for the gala evening. |
